Its superior tenderness makes it one of the best varieties for harvesting young to be eaten raw. The 16 inch plants have a ruffled shape, are very hardy and grow rapidly making it a superior variety for Alaska. A light frost improves flavor, but it is exceptional anytime. A highly nutritious green that is excellent used both raw in salads and steamed.
